NEW WINE PHILOSOPHY
The love/appreciation of wine wisdom is an awesome thing, I found myself at a juice shop mentioning to a friend how these days being selective with wine consumption is of the utmost importance. Although wine prices and your willingness to spend on them is relative, knowing when to deem greatness is key. Having had a good amount of DRC recently, I've become enlightened by the experience. Some situations of enlightenment are definitely priceless.

ON A DAY FILLED WITH PAPERWORK
The words Grand Cru vendor tasting get mentioned and curiosity takes over. The precision in the wines tasted that day was fully on display, the 2017 DT Liger-Belair Corton was a sensation on the palate that feeds the addiction towards the sense of pleasure.

CORTON CLOS DU ROI GRAND CRU
Fermentation was slow this year, which has given a wine of huge complexity and detail. There are lovely touches on the palate with creamy black cherry and delightful tannins which are initially intensely silky before transforming into firm, rocky, limestone layers that coat the palate.
=PNEU=
Going back in time with a wine that has been on the Napa Valley restaurant scene for well over a decade. A rare Pinot Noir wine emanating from the Coombsville AVA made by legendary grower/winemaker Tom Farella. This wine has the power of effortlessly fusing an array of worldly flavors of cuisine.

HAYNES VINEYARD, COOMBSVILLE
Expressive aromas are of strawberry, raspberry and spices of white pepper, clove and fennel. The wine evolves with every sip revealing balance and structure with additional flavors of sandalwood and forest floor. The long finish is of black tea, cherry and a touch of vanilla.
I Find It Interesting That The People That Know The Most About Certain Regions In Burgundy Don't Actually Know The Taste & Feel Of These Wines.
I mentioned to the vendor I wanted a six-pack for the house, he looked at me as if I was confuzzled. I know these wines' quality, taste, texture & feel as we are fortunate to live in a time when we only look back to learn from legendary personalities from the past. Moving forward, it's the best of everything, no need to settle for subpar passions. This 2018 Echezeaux delivers immense quality and value! I'll be drinking a bottle after my snowboarding trip this coming week...Keep Enjoying Friends!

GRAND CRU
ECHEZEAUX
An exceptional Echézeaux, this has the kind of energy and brilliance that sets true grand cru wine apart. Aromatic, boasting lilac, rose, sandalwood and wild berry notes. Silky in texture and harmonious, with cherry, berry, mineral and spice flavors beautifully integrated with the firm structure. The finish is long and resonant.
Échezeaux is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée and Grand Cru vineyard for red wine in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy, with Pinot noir as the main grape variety.

THINGS COME & GO IN WAVES
One day you're craving wines that are lighter, then there are those days you crave wines that could leave you for dead ( In a good way of course ). This Pinot Noir from Rockstar Lady Boss Winemaker Kimberly Morgado is the most hedonistic rendition of Pinot I've ever had. It actually left me in a state of being puzzled, I quickly let that go and kept enjoying! Simply deadly good!

Rita's Crown Pinot Noir
2019 Pinot Noir Rita's Crown is another sexy, full-bodied, pleasure-bent wine in the making. Lots of red and black fruits, dried herbs, and spice make up the bulk of the aromas, and it has ripe tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish.

2020 ASTON ESTATE
PINOT NOIR
The 2020 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a deep, dark, and structured wine from a strong, well-rounded vintage. The wine displays an almost completely opaque dark purple hue in the glass. Exotic aromas of bay leaf, macerated bramble fruit, blood orange and cedar bough emerge from the glass in concert. The palate is defined by mouth-watering freshness from front to back, marked by notes of fresh earth, cherry reduction, crushed rock and primrose. There is so much generosity and complexity to this wine, only time will tell what great notions will come to light in the bottle.
Sold Out, may be available at the winery.

MY MONDAY MORNING WENT THIS WAY
Tasting one wine with an OG sales rep, saved 3 oz of wine, I never taste on an empty stomach. I shared 1/2 of my 3oz with Cult Club members that are visiting. Those unnamed members purchased a case on the spot, I then tasted my remaining wine and boom! This newly released Pinot Noir from Bevan Cellars is as they say in Spanish! Alto Nivel, como nosotros!
Arriving in a few weeks (mid-February)!

Petaluma Gap, Pinot Noir
What makes the 2021 Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir so unique is its textures. The mid-palate is round, luxurious and pulls you in, but the tannins are so supple that you keep sipping it to experience them again and again. Dark blue fruits come from the Calera clone, then beautiful orange rind and spice fill out this complex, enthralling Pinot Noir.
OUT THE BLUE YOU CAME TO ME
It's no surprise these wines are so climate and varietally precise with enduring elegance, Anne-Moller-Racke's rich history in California continues to gain texture. Her Burgundian-inspired wines continue to thrive in local Michelin Starred restaurants with captivating flare.

WELL REMEMBERED
My first ever Pinot Noir, will never forget the color and texture experienced that day. It's no surprise the wine continues to be an icon in the Santa Lucia Highlands.
Amazing 2021 & Well Merited Scarcity!
~ The Wine Lab
“A 'Santa Lucia Highlands' designation on a label is about as close to a guarantee of quality as one is likely to find for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and, increasingly, Syrah from the United States.”
Josh Raynolds | Vinous
Santa Lucia Highlands, Pinot Noir
The base appellation release comes from a mix of single vineyards, and it's been a rock-solid buy for decades. offering a medium ruby hue to go with a spicy, savory, marine-influenced bouquet with lots of pretty mulberry and cherry fruits as well as iron and spicy herbs. With good minerality, medium body, ripe yet firm, framing tannins, and a great finish.
SCOTT'S LATEST BURGUNDY WAVE
Meet the man that does it all, makes his wine and hits the territories to promote it, Stephane Vivier is a Burgundian dynamo. We recently tasted with him and his wines were fantastic, the Van Der Kamp Vineyard Pinot Noir was a show stopper.

VAN DER KAMP VINEYARD
PINOT NOIR
The color is bright, clear with deep ruby tone. Penetrating and rich to smell: earthy and intensely fruity, with light licorice and subtle spice. On the palate, you find a brightly fresh and energetic, firm wine, with enough fruit richness, a dollop of licorice unique to Van der Kamp and an ethereal, persistent and refreshing red and black fruit finish. Drink now or cellar for the next two decades.
